About KbSnap.in
Helping Indian exam and job applicants prepare photos, signatures and documents that meet portal size rules.
Who Runs KbSnap
Hi, I'm Venkatesh, a developer based in Hyderabad, Telangana. I'm passionate about building simple tools that are genuinely useful to people in their everyday tasks.
I built KbSnap after seeing how often applicants lose time — and sometimes a deadline — because a photo or signature upload was rejected for being a few pixels or kilobytes outside the portal's rules. I wanted a tool that keeps documents on your own device and shows the exact pixel and KB size before you download, so I built one that runs entirely in your browser.
I write the guides, check exam presets against official notifications, and fix every reported problem myself. If something on the site is wrong or out of date, email me at support@kbsnap.in.
Our Mission
Photo rejections shouldn't derail your career. Many candidates see an upload rejected — not because of their qualifications, but because a photo or signature is a few pixels or kilobytes outside the portal's rules.
KbSnap.in exists to solve this problem. It is a free, privacy-first tool that resizes and compresses exam photos to the exact pixel size and KB range in your notification, so you can focus on what matters: your preparation.
By The Numbers
Our Values
Privacy First
All processing happens in your browser. We never store or upload your photos to any server.
Fast
Most photos are ready in a second or two. No waiting, no queues, no registration needed.
Checked Before Download
Every output is checked against the pixel size and KB range you choose, with a clear pass/fail result before you download.
Always Free
No signup, no watermarks and no daily limits. The site is supported by ads so the tools can stay free.
Technology Behind KbSnap
Client-Side Processing
We use modern Web APIs (Canvas API, ImageData) to process images entirely in your browser. Your photos never leave your device.
Binary Search Compression
KbSnap binary-searches the JPEG quality setting to find the highest quality that still fits inside your KB range, and reduces the pixel size only when quality alone is not enough.
HEIC/iPhone Support
Automatic detection and conversion of iPhone HEIC/HEIF photos to JPEG, with EXIF orientation correction.
Responsive Design
Works seamlessly on mobile, tablet, and desktop — upload from your phone and download ready for submission.
How We Research and Maintain Exam Specs
Photo and signature rules change between notification cycles, so every preset on KbSnap is treated as a starting point, not an official rule. Here is how we keep the information useful:
- Sources: the starting presets were compiled from sizes commonly published for each exam. I then check them one by one against the official notification or information bulletin. So far 15 of 112 exam presets have been checked this way; each exam page says whether its preset is verified, and the full log with links to the official documents is on the spec updates page.
- Reviews: presets, tools and guides were last reviewed on . Exam pages link to official notices where a rule has recently changed (for example, SSC's move to live photo capture).
- Corrections: if a portal rejects a file made with KbSnap, or you spot a spec that has changed, please tell us. We review every report and update the preset when the current notification confirms the change.
- Independence: KbSnap is not affiliated with UPSC, SSC, NTA, IBPS, any PSC or any government body. Always confirm the final requirement in your official notification.
