Will My Photo Be Accepted? Check It Before You Upload

Already made your photo or signature? Check it against the limits on your form before you upload: whether it is really a JPG, its size in KB, its pixel size, whether it is stored sideways, and whether a signature fills its box. Each problem links to the tool that fixes it.

What the checker looks at

Is it really a JPG?

Renaming photo.png to photo.jpg changes only the name. The checker reads the first bytes of the file, which say what it really is, the way a strict portal does. iPhone HEIC photos and WebP images saved from a browser are caught here too.

Is the size inside the KB range?

Both ends of the range count: a 9KB signature fails a 10–20KB rule just like a 25KB one. Some portals treat a kilobyte as 1,000 bytes and others as 1,024, so a file that only passes one of the two readings is flagged as borderline.

Are the pixels right?

If your form gives a pixel size, enter it. The checker reads the pixel size stored in the file and tells you whether it matches, has the same shape at a different size, or has a different shape that needs cropping.

Is it stored sideways?

Phones often save a photo sideways and add a note telling viewers to turn it. Your gallery follows the note, but some portals ignore it and show the photo on its side. The checker spots files that depend on that note.

Does the signature fill its box?

For signatures, the checker measures how much of the image the ink spans. A small signature in a wide white box becomes hard to read once the portal shrinks it, so it suggests cropping closer when the ink covers too little.

The exam list only includes exams whose limits KbSnap has checked against the official notice. See the verification log for the documents and dates. For anything else, type the numbers from your own notification.

Frequently asked questions

How do I check the size of a photo in KB?

Choose the photo above. The checker shows its size in KB straight away. Enter the minimum and maximum from your form to see whether it is inside the range.

Why does my portal say "invalid format" when my file ends in .jpg?

The file is probably a PNG, WebP or HEIC image that was renamed. The name says JPG but the contents do not. The checker reads the contents and links to the right converter.

Is 50KB the same as 50,000 bytes?

It depends on the portal. Some count 1KB as 1,024 bytes (51,200 bytes for 50KB), others as 1,000 (50,000 bytes). Files that fall between the two are flagged so you can aim a little lower.

Which exams can I check against?

The list only includes exams KbSnap has checked against the official notice, and it shows that rule and links to the notice. For any other exam, choose "The numbers on my form" and type the limits from your own notification.

Does a pass here guarantee the portal will accept my photo?

No. The checker covers the file itself: format, size, pixels, rotation and signature fill. A person may still check things a tool cannot, such as background colour, whether your face is clear, or whether the photo is recent.

Is my photo uploaded anywhere?

No. The file is read by your browser on your device. KbSnap never receives it.
