Compress Images Online — Free, No Upload

Reduce JPG, PNG, WebP and HEIC images to a maximum KB size or a chosen quality. Compress up to 20 images together, compare before and after, and download them one by one or as a ZIP.

How to compress an image

  1. Choose one or more images (JPG, PNG, WebP or HEIC).
  2. Pick a maximum size such as 50KB or 100KB — or switch to Quality.
  3. Optionally convert to JPG/WebP or cap the width and height.
  4. Tap Compress, check the before/after preview, then download.

Which setting should I use?

  • Form upload with a KB limit: Max file size, JPG output.
  • Sharing on WhatsApp or email: Quality 75%, max 1600px.
  • Website images: WebP output, max 1200–2000px.
  • Screenshots with text: keep PNG and reduce only the width.

Compress to an exact size for a form

Government and exam portals usually need exact pixels as well as a KB limit. These tools crop and resize for you:

Frequently asked questions

Are my images uploaded to a server?

No. Images are decoded, compressed and zipped by your browser on your own device. KbSnap never receives them, which is why it also works for ID cards and certificates you would not want to upload.

How is this different from resizing an image to a KB size?

The compressor keeps each image’s shape and works on many files at once — ideal for shrinking phone photos or website images. If a form needs exact pixel dimensions (for example 200×230px), use Resize Image in KB, which also lets you crop.

Why did my PNG barely get smaller?

PNG is lossless, so in “Same as original” mode only reducing the width/height makes it smaller. Choose JPG output for photos, or WebP if the website accepts it — both are usually far smaller than PNG for photographs.

What does “already optimized, original kept” mean?

If re-encoding would make a file larger than the one you uploaded, KbSnap keeps your original so you never download a bigger file.

Can I compress iPhone HEIC photos?

Yes. HEIC photos are converted in the browser and saved as JPG, which every form and website accepts.

What if an image cannot reach my size limit?

KbSnap first lowers quality, then gradually reduces dimensions. If the limit is still too small, the result is marked as over the limit so you can choose a larger target.
