Resize Image in KB — Reduce Photo Size Online

Pick a maximum file size from 10KB to 200KB (or type your own), crop the image, and download a JPEG prepared for government forms and exam applications. No signup or server upload.

Already have a file and not sure it will pass? Check it with the photo size checker — format, KB range, pixels and rotation.

How the KB image resizer works

  1. 1. Upload: choose a JPG, PNG, HEIC, or WebP image.
  2. 2. Set the limit: select 10KB to 200KB, or enter a custom maximum.
  3. 3. Adjust: crop, rotate, or change the output dimensions when the form requires specific pixels.
  4. 4. Download: verify the actual dimensions and KB size before submitting the JPEG.

Exam limits checked against the official notice

These are the KB ranges KbSnap uses for exams it has checked against the official notification. Where a notice gives only a maximum, no minimum is shown; where it gives two different ranges, KbSnap uses the range that satisfies both. Open the exam page for the official wording.

Frequently asked questions

How do I reduce image size in KB?

Upload the image, choose a maximum size such as 20KB, 50KB or 100KB, adjust the crop or pixel size if the form needs it, and process. KbSnap returns the highest-quality JPEG that stays at or below your limit.

Can I reduce a photo to any KB size, like 35KB or 150KB?

Yes. Type any value into "Maximum file size (KB)". The quick buttons are only shortcuts.

Should I reduce pixels or quality to make the file smaller?

For very small limits (10–30KB), reduce the pixel size first. A smaller image keeps more detail per KB than a large image compressed hard.

Will the result be exactly the selected KB value?

JPEG encoders cannot always create every exact byte size. KbSnap aims for the highest-quality result at or below your selected limit and shows the actual size before download.

Is my photo uploaded to a server?

No. Cropping, resizing, and compression run locally in your browser, so your image does not leave your device.

Can I increase a photo's size in KB?

Yes, up to a point. File size grows with the pixel size, so enter a larger width and height and process again. A file that is under a form's minimum is usually too small in pixels, not too low in quality.

How do I get a file between 10KB and 20KB?

Use the Signature resize 10KB–20KB page. It enforces the 10KB minimum as well as the 20KB maximum, so the file passes both ends of the rule.
