  2. 2. Pick a preset: select the photo or signature preset, or enter the pixels and KB from your form.

  4. 4. Download: verify the actual dimensions and KB size before submitting the JPEG.

Frequently asked questions

What is the PAN card photo size in cm?

The photo size commonly published for PAN applications is 3.5cm ร— 2.5cm (2.5cm wide and 3.5cm tall). KbSnap has not yet checked this against the current Protean or UTIITSL instructions, so confirm the size and KB limit shown on your application form.

How are the pixel sizes calculated?

Pixels = centimetres รท 2.54 ร— DPI. At 200 DPI, 2.5cm ร— 3.5cm becomes 197 ร— 276 pixels and 4.5cm ร— 2cm becomes 354 ร— 157 pixels. If your form states a different DPI or pixel size, enter that instead.

What is the PAN card signature size?

The signature size commonly published for PAN applications is 4.5cm wide ร— 2cm tall. Confirm it, and the KB limit, on your application form before uploading.

Do Protean (NSDL) and UTIITSL need different sizes?

Use the size and KB limit shown on the portal you are applying through. The tool works the same way for both โ€” enter the numbers from your form.

Is my photo uploaded to a server?

No. Cropping, resizing, and compression run locally in your browser, so your PAN application photo or signature does not leave your device.
