NEET UG 2026 Photo Size 10–200KB and Signature Size 10–100KB
The NEET (UG) 2026 bulletin sets file sizes, not pixel sizes: photo 10–200KB, signature 10–100KB and finger and thumb impressions 10–200KB, all in JPG/JPEG. Your face, ears visible and no mask, should cover about 80% of the photo.
NEET UG size at a glance
| Document | File size | Dimensions | Format |
|---|---|---|---|
| Photo | 10–200KB | No fixed pixel size; face 80% of the photo, white background (KbSnap: 275 × 354 px) | JPG/JPEG |
| Signature | 10–100KB | No fixed pixel size (KbSnap: 275 × 118 px) | JPG/JPEG |
| Finger and thumb impressions | 10–200KB | No fixed pixel size | JPG/JPEG |
A live photograph is also captured while you fill in the form, so the uploaded photo should be recent.

What the NEET UG size rules mean
- The NEET UG photo is a portrait with the same shape as a 35×45mm passport photo at 275×354 pixels.
- Its 200KB photo limit is more generous than the typical 60KB across the 14 central government exams on KbSnap (1 of 14 allow a larger file).
- The signature box is a wide box, 2.3 times wider than it is tall at 275×118 pixels, 10–100KB.
Tips for this spec
- 200KB is plenty for a 275×354 photo, so the output can stay at high JPEG quality. Don't shrink the file far below the limit — sharper is better.
Same photo and signature spec: JEE Main. If you are applying to these too, files made here should also fit — but confirm each notification, since specs change between cycles.
Verify the current requirement on the official NEET UG website before you upload. Sizes can change with each notification.
What the NEET UG 2026 bulletin asks for
The NTA information bulletin for NEET (UG) 2026 sets file size limits but does not fix a pixel size. The photo can be colour or black and white, must be a JPG between 10KB and 200KB, and must show your face, without a mask and with both ears visible, covering about 80% of the picture on a white background. The signature must be a JPG between 10KB and 100KB, and the left- and right-hand finger and thumb impressions are separate JPG uploads of 10–200KB each.
Because no exact pixel size is required, KbSnap uses a 275×354 pixel passport-shaped photo and a 275×118 pixel signature. These are small enough to upload quickly on a mobile connection and large enough to stay sharp on the admit card.
Framing the photo so the face fills it
The most common NEET photo mistake is a half-body shot. When you crop on this page, zoom in until your head and the top of your shoulders fill most of the frame. Stand in front of a white wall in daylight, face the camera straight on and keep your ears uncovered. A live photograph is also captured while you fill in the form, so the uploaded photo should be recent and look like you do today.
Signature, thumb impressions and the lower limit
Remember the 10KB minimum. A tiny, almost-white signature can compress to well under 10KB and be refused even though it is “small enough”. Sign large on white paper and crop close; KbSnap shows the final size and warns you if it falls outside the range. For finger and thumb impressions, press evenly on white paper with a stamp pad, photograph each sheet separately, and use the resize image to KB tool to bring each file under 200KB.
Common reasons NEET UG uploads are rejected
- Your face, without a mask and with both ears visible, must cover about 80% of the photo against a white background. A half-body shot leaves the face too small.
- The photo must be 10–200KB and the signature 10–100KB, both in JPG/JPEG. A very small signature file under 10KB is rejected too.
- The left- and right-hand finger and thumb impressions are separate JPG/JPEG uploads of 10–200KB each.
- A live photograph is also taken while you fill in the form, so the uploaded photo should be recent and look like you do now.

How to resize your NEET UG documents
- 1. Upload: choose a clear JPG, PNG, or iPhone HEIC photo or scan.
- 2. Crop: frame your face or signature inside the box shown for each document.
- 3. Process: KbSnap resizes to the exact pixels and compresses into the allowed KB range.
- 4. Check and download: confirm the pass/fail result, then upload the file to the NEET UG portal.
Files are processed in your browser and are never uploaded to KbSnap.

What photo size does KbSnap use for NEET UG?
The KbSnap preset for the NEET UG photo is 275×354px, 10–200KB, in JPG format. Confirm these numbers in your current notification before you upload, and aim for the middle of the KB range so a re-save does not push the file over the limit.
What signature size does KbSnap use for NEET UG?
The KbSnap preset for the NEET UG signature is 275×118px, 10–100KB. Sign on plain white paper in the ink colour your notification asks for (black is the safest choice) and crop tightly so the signature is clearly readable.
How do I reduce my NEET UG signature to 10–100KB?
Upload your scanned signature in the Signature step above, adjust the crop, and process it. KbSnap resizes it to 275×118px and compresses it into the 10–100KB range, then shows a pass/fail check before you download.
Any special rules for NEET UG?
The NEET (UG) 2026 bulletin also asks for left and right hand fingers and thumb impressions (JPG, 10–200KB) and captures a live photograph while you fill in the form. Your face, with ears visible and no mask, should cover 80% of the photo against a white background.
Is my photo uploaded to a server?
No. Cropping, resizing, and compression all happen in your browser using the Canvas API. The file never leaves your device.
Why do different exams need different sizes?
Each exam body sets its own portal validation rules independently — there's no shared standard across UPSC, SSC, banking, and state PSCs.
