What the CTET / State TET size rules mean

  • The CTET / State TET photo is a portrait with the same shape as a 35×45mm passport photo at 350×450 pixels.
  • Its 100KB photo limit is more generous than the typical 50KB across the 10 academic and teaching exams on KbSnap (3 of 10 allow a larger file).
  • The signature box is a wide box (7:3), 2.3 times wider than it is tall at 350×150 pixels, 3–30KB.

Verify the current requirement on the official CTET / State TET website before you upload. Sizes can change with each notification.

Common reasons CTET / State TET uploads are rejected

  • The photo and signature must both be JPG/JPEG. PNG files and iPhone HEIC photos have to be converted first.
  • The photo must be 10–100KB and the signature 3–30KB. A signature saved straight from a phone camera is usually far above 30KB.
  • The photo shape is 3.5 cm wide × 4.5 cm high (a portrait), and the signature is 3.5 cm × 1.5 cm (a wide strip). Stretching a photo to fit instead of cropping it distorts the face.

Based on the official CTET / State TET notice, last checked on . For more general causes, read why exam photos get rejected.

How to resize your CTET / State TET documents

  1. 1. Upload: choose a clear JPG, PNG, or iPhone HEIC photo or scan.
  2. 2. Crop: frame your face or signature inside the box shown for each document.
  3. 3. Process: KbSnap resizes to the exact pixels and compresses into the allowed KB range.
  4. 4. Check and download: confirm the pass/fail result, then upload the file to the CTET / State TET portal.

Files are processed in your browser and are never uploaded to KbSnap.

Frequently Asked Questions

What photo size does KbSnap use for CTET / State TET?

The KbSnap preset for the CTET / State TET photo is 350×450px, 10–100KB, in JPG format. Confirm these numbers in your current notification before you upload, and aim for the middle of the KB range so a re-save does not push the file over the limit.

What signature size does KbSnap use for CTET / State TET?

The KbSnap preset for the CTET / State TET signature is 350×150px, 3–30KB. Sign on plain white paper in the ink colour your notification asks for (black is the safest choice) and crop tightly so the signature is clearly readable.

How do I reduce my CTET / State TET signature to 3–30KB?

Upload your scanned signature in the Signature step above, adjust the crop, and process it. KbSnap resizes it to 350×150px and compresses it into the 3–30KB range, then shows a pass/fail check before you download.

Is my photo uploaded to a server?

No. Cropping, resizing, and compression all happen in your browser using the Canvas API. The file never leaves your device.

Why do different exams need different sizes?

Each exam body sets its own portal validation rules independently — there's no shared standard across UPSC, SSC, banking, and state PSCs.
