JPG to PDF Under 50KB

Add your image, keep 50KB selected, and create the PDF. If lower JPEG quality alone cannot reach 50KB, KbSnap also lowers the image resolution step by step until it fits.

50KB is very small. One cleanly cropped page works best โ€” check the size shown before downloading.

Where a 50KB PDF limit shows up

Some scholarship, university, and state recruitment portals cap each scanned certificate, caste certificate, or ID proof at 50KB. That limit is meant for a single page, not a bundle of documents.

A phone photo of a document is usually 2โ€“5MB, so it has to shrink about 50โ€“100 times. KbSnap first searches for the highest JPEG quality that fits. If that is not enough, it lowers the resolution to 1400px, 1000px, and then 700px on the longest side, so text stays readable instead of turning into blocky artefacts.

Take the photo with 50KB in mind

Most of the work happens before you open this page. Lay the document flat on a dark table, stand directly above it in daylight, and fill the frame with the paper. A tilted photo with the floor and your shadow in it wastes most of the 50KB on things nobody needs to read.

If your phone has a document scanner (Notes on iPhone, Google Drive or the cameraโ€™s document mode on Android), use it. It straightens the page, crops to the edges and evens out the light, and its black-and-white filter makes printed text compress far better than a colour photo. Save the result as an image and add it here.

Why one page at a time

A PDF under 50KB has room for roughly one readable page. Two pages share the budget at about 25KB each, which is only enough for large, high-contrast print. If a form asks for a certificate that has a front and a back, check whether it wants both sides; often only the front carries the details the verifier needs.

When the form gives a separate upload slot for each document, make a separate 50KB PDF for each one rather than merging them. Each file then gets the whole budget. Only combine pages when the form clearly asks for a single file.

Read it before you upload it

Open the PDF you downloaded and zoom in on the smallest details: your name, the certificate or roll number, dates and the issuing officerโ€™s seal. If you can read them comfortably on your phone, the verifier can too. If not, crop tighter or rescan rather than uploading a file that only meets the size limit.

Everything runs in your browser and nothing is uploaded to KbSnap, so you can try a different crop or page size as many times as you need. Keep the original photo; it is your starting point if the portal asks you to upload again.

How many pages fit in a 50KB PDF?

PagesBudget per pageWhat to expect
1 pageabout 50KBReadable text on a cleanly cropped scan
2 pagesabout 25KBReadable only for simple, high-contrast documents
3+ pagesunder 17KBSmall text blurs โ€” use the 100KB or 200KB page

Estimates for typical phone photos of documents. Clean, bright scans fit more.

Still over 50KB, or hard to read? Try these

  1. Rescan with your phoneโ€™s document mode: A straightened, cropped black-and-white scan needs a fraction of the bytes of a colour photo.
  2. Already have a multi-page PDF?: Split out just the page the form asks for, then convert or compress that page alone.
  3. Check whether the form allows 100KB: If it does, the extra room keeps small print and seals far clearer.
  4. iPhone photo in HEIC format?: HEIC is converted automatically here, but you can also convert it to JPG first.

How to use it

  1. Photograph or scan the document flat, in bright light, and crop to the paper edges.
  2. Add the JPG, PNG, WebP, or HEIC image โ€” 50KB is already selected.
  3. Choose A4 if the portal expects a standard page, or "Same as image" for a tighter page.
  4. Press Create PDF, confirm the size is under 50KB, and download.

Getting a readable PDF under 50KB

  • Crop away the desk and shadows โ€” every background pixel costs bytes.
  • Shoot in daylight; grainy low-light photos compress badly.
  • Use one page per PDF unless the form explicitly wants them combined.
  • Black text on white paper compresses far better than coloured or stamped documents.
  • If the result is still too large, remove a page or check whether the form allows 100KB.

Frequently asked questions

How do I convert a JPG to a PDF under 50KB?

Add the image, keep the 50KB limit selected, and press Create PDF. KbSnap lowers JPEG quality and, if needed, resolution until the PDF fits, then shows the final size.

Why is my PDF still over 50KB?

Very detailed photos or several pages may not fit even at the lowest resolution step. Crop tighter, remove pages, or use a 100KB limit if the portal allows it.

Will the text still be readable at 50KB?

For a single, well-lit, cropped page, usually yes. Tiny print and photos of colourful documents lose detail first โ€” zoom into the preview before uploading.

Can I convert a PNG or iPhone HEIC photo?

Yes. PNG, WebP, and HEIC images are converted automatically; transparent areas become white.

Does page size change the file size?

Hardly. The size mostly depends on the image content and resolution. A4 adds white margins around the image, which cost almost nothing.

Is my document uploaded anywhere?

No. The PDF is created in your browser and your files never leave your device.
